As editor at large for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency and the New York Jewish Week, I explore the Jewish conversation — what we’re reading, what we’re watching, and the questions we care enough to argue about. My weekly Ideas newsletter highlights some of the most thoughtful and provocative writing from JTA and beyond. For My Jewish Learning, I also teach classes on my cultural obsessions, including comedy, books, and 20th-century American Jewry.
Fun fact: This is my third go-round in the 70 Faces family, having started my career as a reporter for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, later returning as JTA’s editor in chief, and more recently coming aboard when 70 Faces acquired the New York Jewish Week, where I was editor in chief. To quote Sonny Corleone: “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!”
