Our Story Section 3 – History

We were born through the groundbreaking merger of a storied news agency and an Internet start-up. Founded in 1917, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) has for nearly a century been reporting on developments impacting Jews and Jewish communities in North America, Israel and around the world. My Jewish Learning, Inc. was created in 2002 to leverage the internet and other new media to spread knowledge of Jewish religion, history, values, traditions and culture in a manner that is meaningful and accessible to people of all backgrounds, empowering them to navigate Jewish life with confidence and creativity.

Despite the years and life situations that separated JTA’s founder, 25-year-old journalist Jacob Landau, and My Jewish Learning’s founder, 74-year-old philanthropist Edgar Bronfman, both men were pioneers, motivated by a commitment to their people and a belief in the power of information. We at 70 Faces Media are proud and excited to build on their legacies, through the creation of media that engages, informs and connects the Jewish world.
